Educational Programs for School Groups

Explore science and nature outside the classroom

The EcoTarium's field trip programs provide an array of opportunities to investigate science and nature, from lthe New England landscape to outer space. Students might read the clues of animal behavior and biology, explore life in watery environments, understand the engineering challenges of producing renewable energy, examine the far reaches of the galaxy and more. Come prepared to explore our grounds in all weather!

We want your field trip to be a valuable learning experience as well as a fun outing. That's why we select and design all of our educational offerings with Massachusetts State Curriculum Frameworks in mind. Our content is always tailored to your grade level, whether you visit with preschoolers or a high school class.

When to visit?

Field trips are a fun and educational experience at any time of the year. Each season offers its own unique experiences, from looking for tracks in a snowy landscape to discovering plentiful creatures in a pond during spring thaw. In spring, the museum can be busy with field trip groups, so be sure to schedule your trip for fall or winter if you require a customized program. While our group programs are designed with school groups in mind, day camps, scouts and other youth groups are invited to take advantage of these educational programs during their group visits.
