Preschool Field Trips

Excite your preschoolers’ curiosity with a hands-on program designed especially for children ages 3-5. These activity-oriented nature and science explorations led by the EcoTarium's educators make learning fun. Depending on the weather and topic, they may be conducted in part outdoors.

Touchable Tales - NEW

Available October - March

A special encounter for the younger set involving an animal storybook, a craft, and a visit to a live animal in its museum habitat. Find out how different animals locate homes, food and friends! Discovery is enhanced by the use of touchable bones and pelts, and recorded bird calls. Program not available on Wednesdays

Multimedia Planetarium Programs

EcoTarium's state-of-the-art, full-dome multimedia experience - the only one of its kind in Massachusetts. A 15-minute grade-appropriate discussion with a museum educator follows each planetarium show.

One World, One Sky: Big Bird's Adventure

Students join Sesame Street's Big Bird and Elmo as they learn about the night sky with Hu Hu Zhu, a Muppet from Zhima Jie, the Chinese co-production of Sesame Street. Together, they take an imaginary trip from Sesame Street to the moon, where they discover how different it is from Earth. An Adler Planetarium production produced by Sky-Skan, Inc.

The Zula Patrol: Under the Weather

Students take a rollercoaster ride across the universe with the lovable, wacky cast of alien characters from the award-winning Public Television series, The Zula Patrol, while learning about astronomy and weather. Ride along with the Zula Patrol as they observe, describe and record weather on our planet and others.The Zula Patrol series and dome show were created by Zula USA, LLC.

Secret of the Cardboard Rocket

Students climb aboard a homemade rocket with two young explorers for an imaginative tour through our solar system. With a wise old astronomy book as their guide, the pair dodge through Saturn's rings, cruise the asteroid belt and discover what makes Earth unique among planets. Preschool Field Trip program rates are $4.00 per person, plus group-rate admission to the museum and grounds. A minimum group fee of $80 applies to all programs. Rates apply to groups of 10 or more.
