Join us as the EcoTarium opens its new permanent exhibit City Science: The Science You Live a 2,500 square foot exhibit that explores the hidden science stories all around us opening January 17, 2017. Located on the middle level of the museum, this immersive exploration of the modern city allows visitors to investigate the science we encounter every day but rarely stop to consider.
This new exhibit incorporates live animals, interactive components, and natural history specimens, to give children and families the opportunity to experiment, engineer, and observe the science that is happening on our streets and in our neighborhoods. Experience firsthand that the way we design and build our cities has many impacts on people, animals, civic life, and the larger environment. Inspired by the City of Worcester, City Science features a magnificent three-dimensional, 60-foot long cityscape mural, which highlights iconic structures in Worcester.
Exhibit Helpers will interact with guests and give assistance to our younger visitors as they make bridges, create turtle safe neighborhoods, solve mysteries, and design their ideal neighborhood. Helpers will also assist in stocking the exhibit and cleaning up between guests. This is a great position for anyone who is looking for a fun way to be social and give back after school, on weekends, or over the summer.
