Collections Data Entry Volunteer

Position Summary: 

Founded in 1825, the EcoTarium is the second-oldest natural history museum in the nation.  The museum has a collection of approximately 50,000 pieces and is currently in the process of inventorying its holdings.  The Collections Data Entry Volunteer would assist by inputting information into the Museum’s PastPerfect collection database.  The focus of this project would be copying information from old specimen cards circa 1880-1920 from the Museum’s Ornithology or bird collection into the system.  

  • Must be careful
  • Must be computer savvy and willing to learn how to navigate the collections database.
  • Must be able to take direction and follow set procedures
  • Must pass a CORI background check in accordance with EcoTarium guidelines
  • Carefully handle old specimen cards circa 1880-1920.
  • Input information from cards into the database system.
