Animals
On a visit to the EcoTarium, you'll encounter a wide variety of animals, from frogs to polar bears, chinchillas to turtles. You'll meet some of them face to face during public programs and visit others while they swim, relax and play in their habitats.

The EcoTarium provides homes for a variety of animals that could not live on their own in the wild. Visitors can see them on display or at "animal encounter" programs. Some animals, like wild turkeys, are living on their own within the museum grounds. You never know what you might see on a visit to the EcoTarium!
Our naturalists have provided information about some of the EcoTarium's animals. What's a naturalist? At the EcoTarium, they are young volunteers who learn how to help care for our animal collection.
Wildlife Signs
New signs are showing up at the animal exhibits! These red signs in Spanish and English teach guests all about our animals. Come check them out! This sign for Ring-necked Pheasants is at our newly refurbished Bird House.

Animal Corner
Meet the native animals you rarely see. Several have come out of hiding to move into the Animal Corner building on the museum's North Courtyard. Drop by to see our personable porcupine, black and brown skunks and more.
Spin browser technology in the tidepool
Ever wonder what a crab does all day? Or if sea stars ever move? Be sure to stop by and watch a day in the life of the tidepool creatures on our real-time spin browser. This first-of-its-kind technology was pioneered right here at the EcoTarium.
