Summer Camp: Junior Counselor Programs for Teens

Train today to become a camp counselor! Volunteering at the EcoTarium's Summer Discovery Camp is a fun way to spend the summer and a great way to learn about education, science and nature while adding valuable community service experience to your resume and college applications.

Each year, there are limited slots for responsible teen volunteers ages 15 to 16 as Junior Counselors at EcoTarium's Summer Discovery Camp. Junior Counselors work with a college-aged mentor counselor under the direction of an Assistant Director to gain valuable experience working with children ages 5 -14 in a camp setting.

Junior Counselors are an important part of the camp community and are encouraged to participate in all activities. You'll be immersed in topics such as ecology, study of animal behaviors, animal care, astronomy, natural sciences and weather, activities to improve sensory awareness, group and team-building initiatives, and more. It's a great opportunity to earn community service credit in a fun and engaging way.
