Summer Camp Registration

Summer Camp at the EcoTarium is a whole lot of fun, and it also provides kids with a foundation in the natural sciences and scientific investigation.

General registration begins March 18 and continues until camp sessions are sold out.

Please note: Amazing Animals Camp is SOLD OUT for the 9-10 year-old age group.

Scholarships and Discounts

Save $20 per session on camp fees with an EcoTarium membership (Family/Grandparent level or higher). Need-based financial assistance is available for children from the greater Worcester area. Call (508) 929-2742 for information or ask at your child's school about nomination before April 15.

Required Release Forms

Camp regulations require that parents submit two release forms with their registration. Your child will not be able to attend summer camp without them. Please print and submit one copy of each form for each child. We've also included a handy checklist to help you get organized for camp.

Age Groups

Each session is divided into four age groups, which allows campers to enjoy developmentally appropriate activities, make friends their own age, and return next year for a camp experience that grows along with them. Campers must be at least 7 years old by June 1, 2008.

Ages 7-8

Campers use all five senses and basic scientific tools to explore the world around them. Activities are focused on observing and recording information. Camp fees apply. Please complete registration, medical and release forms.

Ages 9-10

Campers in this age group delve into the unknown and identify and develop ways that people interact with and affect natural communities. Activities focus on building knowledge and awareness. Camp fees apply. Please complete registration, medical and release forms.

Ages 11-12

Campers in this age group take the scientific process to the next level as they practice forming and testing scientific hypotheses. Activities focus on identifying similarities and differences, and drawing connections. Camp fees apply. Please complete registration, medical and release forms.

Leadership Training Program: Leaders-in-Training, Ages 13-14

Camp program for young teens interested in learning and teaching science and nature. Teens in this program learn team-building activities and games and build their leadership skills in order to discover what it's like to be a counselor. Leaders-in-Training will learn to apply teaching skills in program areas while participating in science and nature exploration. Camp fees apply. Please complete registration, medical and release forms.

Camp Staff

Museum educators lead each camp with the aid of college-age naturalists and high school students in the Counselors-in-Training program. Camp sessions are limited to 60 children. The ratio of counselors to campers is 1:10. CPR training, First Aid certification and background screening are required for all camp staff and volunteers.
