Tree planting, 10:30 a.m.
WHERE: EcoTarium, 222 Harrington Way, Worcester, Massachusetts
DESCRIPTION:
As part of Celebrate
America's Freedoms: A Day of Remembrance, a national observance
organized by the American Association of Museums and the Institute of
Museum and Library Services, the EcoTarium will offer free admission
from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2002.
On that morning, Worcester Mayor Timothy P. Murray will join EcoTarium staff and students from neighboring North High School in planting a tree on the EcoTarium's North Courtyard at 10:30 a.m. The tree is a symbolic gesture of hope and a living memorial to honor the victims of last September's terrorist attacks. Musical selections will be provided by the North High School chorus. Short remarks will also be offered by Murray, EcoTarium Executive Director Laura Myers, and North High Principal Elizabeth Drake.
The public is invited to attend the tree planting ceremony.
