(WORCESTER, MA) -- After much anticipation, the EcoTarium launches its new Alden Digital Planetarium with a week of far out space activities! Opening on Tuesday, February 20, the Alden Digital Planetarium will be showing exciting and educational multimedia programming for families during February Vacation Week. Stop by, try on a real space suit and participate in hands-on family activities that are truly out of this world!

Celebrate the 45th anniversary of John Glenn's first-ever manned space flight around the Earth by going on a space flight of your own. The flight commander for this mission is Tom Hanks who will guide visitors through space in the multimedia planetarium show Passport to the Universe. Leave Earth's atmosphere and travel to the outer limits of the galaxies with incredible images from NASA's missions to space. Watch the latest programming from NASA TV while counting down to planetarium show launches.

Also showing in the Alden Digital Planetarium for Space Week is The Problem with Pluto and Secret of the Cardboard Rocket, a remastered version of the children's animated favorite. Then actually try on a real space suit and learn how these suits protect astronauts from an environment completely different from the Earth's. Engineer your own space craft, meet animals from the constellations, and plenty more.

On Wednesday, February 21 at 10:30 a.m., preschoolers and their families are invited to join the EcoTarium for special space activities just for them!
