Internship: Group Programs
EcoTarium internships provide experience working in a unique museum of science and nature. The internship program is open to undergraduate juniors and seniors and/or graduate students.
Position Description
Group Program Assistant
The intern works directly with the Group Program Manager. They will have contact will other departments and multiple programs as well. The intern will be involved with special events and other programs such as birthdays and overnights as well as research.

Responsibilities
Specific writing projects that include fact sheets, contact lists, job descriptions, program summaries, evaluation data, task lists and possible entertainers for special events. Setting up, attending and cleaning up special events and programs. Assist in maintaining the database by researching, compiling and updating through mailings, phone calls, evaluations, faxing and emails. Provide support for special events and programs such as gathering contact info and needs of participants, entertainers and vendors. Provide assistance in developing a program inventory system of supplies and forms. General office duties will be required such as filing, photocopying, faxing, answering and making phone calls. May be called upon for photography for summer camp.
Qualifications
Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with the public and other staff members. Computer skills a must particularly excel, word, graphs and power point.

Structure of Internship
- Time commitment will be equivalent of at least one full day per week, two days preferred.
- Some weekend or evening hours may be required.
- Students who wish to receive course credit must arrange this through their college or university
- Students will be assigned to and guided by museum staff
