The EcoTarium, New England's leading center for science and nature, today announced that the U.Fund Dreams Tour, an interactive experience for children and their parents, will visit the EcoTarium from Tuesday, August 28 – Sunday, September 2, 2012. The exhibit will be open on a drop-in basis from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 2).The tour, sponsored by the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA), the Commonwealth's college financing expert, and Fidelity Investments®, a leader in helping families save for college, encourages children to dream about their career aspirations while helping to educate families about saving for college, including the tax-advantaged U.Fund® College Investing Plan.
The U.Fund Dreams Tour Pavilion is an opportunity for children to explore "what do I want to be when I graduate from college." By dressing up in the uniforms of potential careers, kids can literally try many different occupations on for size and begin to dream about which one is the right fit for them.
While visiting the Pavilion, kids will also have the opportunity to take part in MEFA's 9th Annual College Savings Art Competition, which invites children in kindergarten through fifth grade to submit artwork illustrating the same theme of "what do I want to be when I graduate from college?" Winners of the annual competition can earn up to $5,000 for college, payable to a U.Fund College Investing Plan account. More information about the competition can be found at www.mefa.org/contest.
Parents visiting the Pavilion will be provided with information about college savings, including the flexible and affordable savings options and significant tax-advantages of the U.Fund® College Investing Plan.
